Project Description
Why did the client need our services?
The two cottages were connected to a non-compliant septic tank and Willow Pumps were asked to produce a suitable solution.
What challenges were faced?
The road leading down to the cottages was in constant use, so digging up the road was not an option. We decided to use directional drilling, which meant the road could always be kept open for access.
The residents also wished the pumping station to be disguised as well as possible, and not to reduce the garden space. The chosen solution was to create a small, fenced area for the control kiosk, with the chamber hidden under a new patio.
Client
Residential – two cottages
Location
Howsham, North Yorkshire
Work carried out
Installation of a package pumping station within property boundaries
What work was carried out?
Willow Pumps provided an end-to-end solution for the customer, beginning with the necessary civil work. Directional drilling kept the disruption to a minimum whilst preparing for the installation. The pumping station and control kiosk were installed sympathetically, taking up as little space as possible, taking waste output from the cottages up to the local water authority’s sewer on the main road of the village.
Finally, we carried out the necessary checks to ensure that the station was running correctly and left the client with a well-functioning, compliant and neat solution.
